2018 Soter Vineyards Pinot Noir Mineral Springs Ranch Yamhill-Carlton

2018 Soter Vineyards Pinot Noir Mineral Springs Ranch Yamhill-Carlton

This Soter estate Pinot was grown in their 240-acre certified organic and biodynamic ranch in Yamhill-Carlton, which has both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines. The fruit enjoyed 30 days of maceration and the wine aged for a year in French oak barrels, 40 percent new.

It’s a pretty ruby color with a pink rim; limpid, but not as light as some Oregon Pinots. The perfume is haunting, a commingling of red and green: sun-dried tomato and dried rose petals, tomato vine and potpourri, black raspberry and mint. The palate continues the theme, with flavors of brambly fruits and a breezy wintergreen finish.
