A blend of 92 percent Pinot Noir and 8 percent Chardonnay, with a small percentage of Pinot Noir vin gris added to the base wine to impart a rosy color. The cuvée spent 18 months en tirage.
The mousse yields toasty notes of honeyed wax along and smiling pink fruits, and the body is smooth-textured but with a flourish of red berries, sweet lemon, green apple, and citrus pith. The dosage is just about right, maybe a little sweet, but the acidity is firm and grounding.
A big, fruity wine that likes cheese.
