Fruit for Bellenda’s vintage Brut sparkler is grown at 180 meters elevation on vines trained to a mix of the historic Sylvoz trellising and double-arched cane. The wine ages sur lie in tank from one to three months before bottling with 6.5 g/L of residual sugar. The result is a crunchy, mineral-driven wine offering fresh citrus and tree fruits. There’s a slight note of brioche, but the core is mostly shiny, sharp, and tart, and the fizz quietly underlines the crystalline acidity. A bracing companion to picnic fare.
