2015 Angeline Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc Reserve Sonoma County

Balanced: both ripe and cooling

2015 Angeline Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc Reserve Sonoma County

The fruit was grown in various vineyards of Sonoma County, including Russian River and Dry Creek Valley. Lots were whole-cluster pressed and vinified separately prior to blending.

It’s a style that walks the line between the tropics and the cooling north. Aromatically I find notes of melon and citrus, lime peel and gardenia, while the acid backbone offers good freshness and linearity. Flavors of white peaches soaked in citrus juice enliven its mid-palate, and the finish offers that musky, citric goodbye so characteristic of this grape.

Ripe but not too. Pair it with goat’s milk cheeses, salads, white fish, and light pastas.
