2018 Monitore Estate Reserve Pinot Noir Willamette Valley

Montinore’s estate Pinot is made from three blocks, 12 to 36 years old, planted to a mix of Pommard, Wadenswil, and Dijon clones. The robe is clear garnet and fragrant of potpourri, red currants, cherries, and red earth. The acidity is firm and the fruit medium, with pleasing astringency mid palate. The flavors offer a sense of clay and dark earth but also also roses, red cherries, and raspberries. It’s a somewhat quiet wine with a savory, woodsy finish.
