Graham’s Block, also called Block 7, was planted in 1984 and the vines are un-grafted. The fruit is certified biodynamic and organic. The wine feels Burgundian, wreathed in an earthy perfume of cherries, smoke, and sous-bois. The robe is limpid and the notes sing in a high key: red fruits, lavender, basil. The texture is substantial, with grippy tannins to sharpen it. I recommend five years of cellaring to let tertiary notes settle handsomely onto its shoulders.
