2017 Mittnacht Frères Pinot Noir Terres d’Étoiles Alsace

Mittnacht’s Pinot is a brilliant, shimmery wine: food-friendly, low alcohol, and deliciously versatile. The wine is grown on densely planted vines rooted in clay and limestone soils, and it is aged in large wooden foudres. It is Demeter-certified biodynamic.

Limpid ruby in the glass, it is profusely floral, a bouquet of rose petals, fresh fennel, lavender leaf, and basil. Light-textured and with lovely mid-palate acidity, it pops with flavors of pomegranate, strawberry, red cherry, and potpourri. Refreshing and eminently drinkable.
