Ripe and restrained but also somehow deep. The robe is light yellow but has an evocative, dark yellow fragrance: herbs and preserved lemons, fresh air, sunshine in a dark room. The body is silky and serious, with medium acidity and (as with the Estate bottling) a pineapple aspect. But the mid palate and finish are herbaceous and minerally, and the wine departs in a freshet. Not a wine for those who want lots of fruit and cream (hooray).
