A tropical style of Sauvignon Blanc with flavors skewing more Old World than New. The wine was grown in the five-acre Jane’s Vineyard in the Russian River Valley, barrel fermented in a mix of neutral French oak and stainless steel. Malolactic was suppressed.
It yields a fragrance of white peaches and pineapple, yellow flowers and ripe citrus, while its racy acidity and limpid yellow body glint with lemon-lime and honeydew. Perhaps the wine’s most alluring quality is its fey, almost-bitter Sauvignon backbone, which imbues it with authority and presence.
Balanced and zesty and well-structured, a good accompaniment to fresh and young cheeses, salads, and light-fleshed fish.
