2014 FEL Chardonnay Savoy Vineyard Anderson Valley

A Chardonnay like rare steak: lean, juicy, raw, meaty, savory. Wente and Prosser Chardonnay clones were harvested at 23.9° Brix, then barrel-fermented in 40 percent new French. The wine’s scent is somewhat lactic, and the body offers the field hay, honeydew, musk melon, and serious citrus qualities that are Chardonnay’s hallmark. But the frame is substantial—muscular, lean, and chewy.

A wine defined by its structure.
