2013 Lambert Bridge Chardonnay Chambers Vineyard Sonoma County

A barrel-fermented Chardonnay, all Wente Clone from the Chambers Vineyard in Sonoma County. The fragrance is Chardonnay-correct: honeydew, pear, Meyer lemon, honeyed citrus. The body is clean, with a shadow of stone and a hazelnut-nutmeg back note. Suggestions of white pepper and a savory, umami finish add filigree. It’s lactic but not too creamy or custardy, and definitely not heavy. It’s more about white spice and sunlit fruit.
