I saw your message on Twitter about cutting mushrooms and that being a particular food moment for you. This picture makes me think of all of the years eating my grandparents’ cooking, my mom’s cooking, all of them. Surprising how something so simple can be so evocative.
Hi Jenny, thanks for your comment. There’s something about cooking aromatics that’s really elemental and grounding. They’re the basis for so many foods—indeed so many cuisines—and so are evocative not only of family but of culture, tradition, and history.
