Grapefruit!

Mason Cellars
Pomelo Sauvignon Blanc
2006

This pale gold wine has little of the green apple notes and none of the grassiness we associate with Sauvignon Blanc. Instead, it delivers grapefruit (or maybe the eponymous pomelo) from start to slightly bitter finish. It's a little frizzante, which adds to its liveliness. Fun and extremely quaffable.

Price: $12

  1. Okay, we tried this again and couldn’t get past the first pour. It smelled like diesel, or maybe paint remover. We poured it back without even a taste, and will return it to the store. Caveat emptor.
