2021 Domaine Anderson Estate and Dach Vineyard Chardonnays

Two elegant options from the cool Anderson Valley

2021 Domaine Anderson Estate Chardonnay Anderson Valley

Domaine Anderson is CCOF certified organic farming and uses some biodynamic practices. The estate fruit for this bottling was whole cluster pressed and the juice was allowed to oxidize fully prior to barrel fermentation. The wine aged ten months in barrel with full malolactic conversion. It’s pale yellow with aromas of lemon and lemon peel, a hint of dairy, the grounding of barrel. Flavors offer lemon curd and firm acidity, with a finish of grapefruit and its pith. A light-textured wine with a cool mien. 12.8% ABV | $40 (sample)

2021 Domaine Anderson Chardonnay Dach Vineyard Anderson Valley

Dach Vineyard is a 17.5 acre parcel that surrounds the winery facility at Domaine Anderson. This wine is pale yellow with a fragrance of lemon peel, salt, and cream. It’s weightier than the Estate Chardonnay, with more concentration and lemony fruit. It’s also riper, with higher resulting alcohol. There is a note of tangerine, and a tangy finish. Both are lovely wines, the Estate perhaps better with fresher cuisine, the Dach with food that’s more robust. 14% ABV | $55 (sample)
