Winemaker and owner Roberta Bricolo has converted her family estate in Bardolino to organic production and now makes a range of red, white, and pink wines. I visited in 2019, my last foreign trip before Covid locked our borders.
This rosé is made from a regionally typical blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara which macerates for six to eight hours before pressing and cold fermentation. The wine ages for three months in stainless steel. It is certified organic.
It’s a medium-pale salmon color and fragrant of ripe peach and tarragon with a flinty, mineral edge. That minerality carries through to the palate, which feels chiseled, clear as glass. The flavors suggest stone fruit and ripe strawberry, with a note of meadowy herbs.
It’s balanced and elegant and a good value.
