Sullivan’s estate Chardonnay spent six months French oak, one-third new. It offers aromas of Meyer lemon, lime peel, laurel, and lemon curd. The palate is bracing, with linear, lemony acidity, but it earns a rounded, ample texture from its considerable alcohol. Its finish is, again, juicy like a lime.
Such a substantial Chardonnay demands food. Try roasted poultry or salmon, medium-aged cheeses, or charcuterie.
