2015 Domaine les Chenevières Mâcon-Villages

“Substantial but not creamy...”

This Chardonnay is grown at Domaine les Chenevières, in Saint-Maurice-de-Satonnay, just north of Mâcon, in a plot that’s been overseen by the same winegrowing family for several generations.

This particular Mâcon-Villages is an opulent offering, a mouthful of topical citrus, Meyer lemon, and yellow peach that gets a keen lift from suggestions of lemon peel and lime leaf. Rounded and succulent, it has a light spiciness like ripe pineapple, but beneath all of this is a cooling stratum of wet stone.

A non-creamy, non-buttery wine that’s substantial enough for rich white fish, cream sauces, cheeses, and roasted poultry.
