A varietal Pinot Noir with a flowery perfume (wild roses, pink petals), on-point for the ripe California style. A whiff of barrel toast adds interest. Normally I dislike spice in Pinot Noir, but here it feels integrated with the wine’s blazing raspberry and cherry flavors. The body balances levity and seriousness. Good tannins—surprising tannins!—add drying astringency, while sweet fruits saturate the finish.
