2015 Martin Ray Vineyards and Winery Sauvignon Blanc Russian River Valley

The fruit was hand-picked and whole-cluster pressed, and the must was inoculated. The wine is very pale green-gold and effusively perfumed, with jasmine, green tea, green citrus, musk, and gardenia. It has an open, summery resonance, with high notes of dew-stained grass and a darker suggestion of wet forest. The body is ample but also angular, with sharp acidity, ripe green fruits, savory (the herb), and a finish like biting the pith and peel of a lime. Uncomplicated and refreshing.
