Clear and True

J. M. Boillot
Montagny 1er Cru

We poured this white Burgundy into a Bordeaux glass, thinking it could take it. It can. Straw gold and ringing with bright urgency, it smells a little oily, a little lemony, a little grassy. It opens into more lemon like a luxuriant, citrusy flower. There's no oak here.

It's like drinking a new-mowed lawn on a late summer evening. Perfect with our roasted salmon and fresh basil pesto on a bed of arugula.
