2017 Birichino Pinot Noir Enz Vineyard Lime Kiln Valley

Structured and textural Pinot noir

2017 Birichino Pinot Noir Enz Vineyard Lime Kiln Valley

Birichino’s Pinot noir is grown in the crumbly limestone and granite soils of the Enz Vineyard in Lime Kiln Valley, due east of Monterey Bay. The wine is accented with tart red fruits but has dimensions of blue fruit, even dried blue fruit. The tannins are pronounced, uncharacteristic in California Pinot noir, and the acidity is likewise profound. It’s a structured, textural, and unusual Pinot that loves food.
