Dierberg’s Santa Maria Valley Chardonnay is ripe but easygoing, balancing fleshy tropical fruits—guava, mango, and pineapple—with a kick of salt and citrus. A whiff of brushy herbs, especially sage and bay leaf, adds dimension. The palate is spangled with lemon and lime, while the finish is briny and long.
Pair this wine with a mixed cheese course, light meats and poultry, shellfish, pâté, or smoked and salty foods. Also good all by itself.
