2014 Talbott Pinot Noir Sleepy Hollow Vineyard Santa Lucia Highlands

Fruit-laden and heavily spiced Pinot Noir

2014 Talbott Pinot Noir Sleepy Hollow Vineyard Santa Lucia Highlands
Talbott’s Sleepy Hollow estate vineyard lies on benchland in the Santa Lucia Highlands, about 13 miles south of Monterey. This single-vineyard wine is fruit-forward and heavily spiced, and its strong perfume of old roses, red grapefruit, cinnamon, clove, and allspice makes it feel sweet-seeming, almost confectionary. It finishes with laden heat and bitterness. The Talbott Kali Hart Pinot Noir is a fresher offering, at least this vintage.
