2015 Gundlach Bundschu Chardonnay Sonoma Coast

Sharp and focused, good with a range of fare

2015 Gundlach Bundschu Chardonnay Sonoma Coast

A Chardonnay that’s whole-cluster pressed and 80 percent fermented in barrel, with the rest in stainless steel. Malolactic was suppressed to keep the wine snappy and sharp.

The fragrance offers herbs and orchard blossoms, faint green pineapple, and tart apple. The core of the wine is succulent, a mouthful of fresh tropical fruits, especially guava and mango. It’s friendly and welcoming, an unencumbered wine that is good both by the glass and with a range of light meats, cheeses, salads, and cream sauces.
