A Chardonnay grown in chalky shale near the Pacific—a cool site. It feels quiet and stony at first, but with air and warmth it begins to yield beeswax, daffodils, spring flowers, ripe pear, fresh air, and lemon curd. The texture medium and acidity modest, but it is not ponderous. Creamy lemon fruit and a lovely hint of basil lift it up, while a bright blade of citrus pierces the finish.
