2015 Émile Béranger Pouilly-Fuissé

“Shiny yet also demure...”

2015 Émile Béranger Pouilly-Fuissé AOP
Emile and Robert Béranger manage a little over 12 HA of vineyard in the village of Solutré. The family has worked the land for over 200 years.

Their wine is a medium yellow color with flame gold glints. The fragrance is white and yellow: field herbs, meadow flowers, chamomile, daisy. There is another strong suggestion, too, of earth—wet stone, clay—and something like leather. The body is shiny yet also demure, with a flavor like yellow apple skin muddled with dried citrus peel and sensuous herbs. There are evocations, too: a blaze of sunlit grass, a sense of stones, something like milk. The finish is watery, vanishing in a slip.

Pair with delicate preparations of fish or poultry.
