The fruit was grown in the Coryelle Vineyard at 1,000 feet of elevation along a foggy ridge of the Sonoma Coast. It’s truly a gorgeous color, deep tourmaline pink with vibrant rose gold highlights. But while it looks like a jewel, it evokes something more rustic and rugged, perhaps the coastline itself, with its smell of garrigue and fog, sea spray, wet forest, wet stones. The wine’s breezy scent of pink fruit and straw mingles with crushed juniper berries, and the body has lovely structure and presence, its watermelon-strawberry fruits balanced by a woodsy, tamarack-redwood finish. Evocative and beautiful.
