The Rinaldi Vineyard was planted in 1865, and yield from these craggy old vines is now a mere two tons per acre. The 2014 Easton bottling has entered maturity, its robe saturated red with barn red glints, its aromas dusted with cedar, black tea, and amaretto. The palate has firm acidity and a core of red bramble fruits accented with sweet tobacco and juniper. This wine lacks the blueberry jam sensibility common in a concentrated old vine Zinfandel. It wears its age well.
