2014 Bruce Patch Wines Red Blend Patchwork Sonoma County

A vibrant red blend tinged with spice

2014 Bruce Patch Wines Red Blend Patchwork Sonoma County
This blend is about two-thirds Zinfandel jumbled with seven other grapes: Carignan, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, Petite Sirah, Sangiovese, and Petit Verdot. It was aged for 20 months in French and American oak.

The scent is vibrant, steeped in red fruits like candied cranberries tinged with barrel spice. Polished acidity smooths its flavors of currant, red plum, and juniper berry, and the wine finishes with an intriguing pink grapefruit lift. Still, with the alcohol content cresting 15%, a single glass feels like a meal.
