Frappato is a peppery wine, grapey and light-textured, ergo fun and light-hearted. This one effuses pink peppercorns, sweet red berries, and juniper carried on a drift of briny sea air. It could be a weeknight staple, terrific with lighter fare like salmon or young cheeses, but expertly contrasting (and refreshing) with the hearty and savory.
Try it with salumi, aged cheeses, poultry, fish, lamb, or—why not?—macaroni and cheese.
