2005 Scarzello Barolo DOCG

“Flowers, mushrooms, earth, and ruby fruit.”

2005 Scarzello Barolo DOCG
Wildly fragrant, as Barolo should be, redolent of flowers, mushrooms, earth, and ruby fruit. The body’s edges have been burnished tawny with age, the tart cherry of its youth steeped and softened in the humors of tannin and oxygen. This wine feels a tincture: black on the front end and red on the back, with grip that flames into quietness slowly. Drink it now, or soon.
