2011 Paul Dolan Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Mendocino County
Clean, with nothing in the way. Very fragrant—beautifully fragrant—with red fruits and a flourish of juniper, juniper berry, hemlock forest. Its red currant body has a hint of cranberry and black raspberry and red licorice, and the tannins read like supple tanned hide. The finish is cooling, minty-menthol, with a drying breeze at the exit. Multi-dimensional, active, animated. Made from organically grown grapes.
14.5% abv | $25 (I paid $13)
