Gallica’s Napa Cab Franc is ruby purple with blue-fuchsia glints. The wine has a perfume of violets and black plums, and the first palate impression is high-toned. Then the wine darkens into a sense of red and black bramble fruits accented by fennel seed and coriander. The tannins are modest, and a flare of acidity, especially mid-palate, segues to a finish like plums steeped in coffee. Truly a lovely wine.

Took a look on their site, and it says “carbonic.” I suppose that’s where the high-toned comes from.
Indeed. Only some carbonic, so I omitted that from the review, but that was my take, too.
