Airichino’s rosé is a blend of grapes grown up and down the coast — Contra Costa, Arroyo Seco, Carneros Napa, and Lodi, hence the “California” appellation. Almost a third of this pressed wine is old-vine Mourvèdre, with the balance Grenache, Cinsault, and Vermentino. Its robe is pale salmon pink and highly perfumed, but not sweetly so. A streak of wet clay that anchors the detailed fragrance of strawberry, apple blossoms, and mint. This is a wine of substantial texture and grip, allowing it to pair well with rich and savory foods; think charcuterie, aged cheeses, roasted poultry or salmon.
