2015 Garofoli Podium Verdicchio di Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore

Ripe and generous with honey, citrus, and white flowers

2015 Garofoli Verdicchio di Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore
Persistent, insistent, present. The perfume is a canopy of white flowers and citrus floating above notes of cultured cream, honeydew, nut, and green herbs. The coating texture carries flavors of melon and sappy honey, making the wine feel generous and ripe, while its modest acidity finishes in a sluice like watery lemonade.

This varietal Verdicchio was grown in soils streaked with clay and the wine was treated only to stainless steel. It was released at a minimum of a year of age and could age even longer, given its substance and style.

Right now it’s a good accompaniment to substantial vegetarian, poultry, and light meat preparations, and medium-aged and young cheeses. Herbal, fruit, ginger, and white spice seasonings would also be compatibly delicious.
