A simple, pretty rosé, seventy-five percent Grenache with the balance Syrah and Cinsault. Grapes are farmed in a mix of sustainable and biodynamic practices, and the fruit is direct-pressed (viz., it’s not a saignée), then vinified cold in stainless steel.
The body’s saturated salmon color yields a fragrance of strawberry and apple topped with a whiff of mint and thyme. Direct across the palate, it suggests red apple skin, tart strawberries and (again) a hint of garrigue.
Refreshing. I think the word “quaff” was coined for such wines.
