Made from 100 percent Lagrein grown in alluvial soils in Italy’s jagged Dolomite mountains. The wine’s a luxuriant shell pink color, and its fragrance is fruity, suggesting melon and strawberries, honeydew. But this sweetness doesn’t linger, because soon a breath of woodsy cypress, mint, and fresh herbs drifts through. The body, too, is fresh-washed and alpine but with throaty astringency. It’s a great rosé for rare meat.
