Brilliant ruby color. It smells like ripe plums and stewed prunes, sweet black cherries, raisins macerated in vin santo. There is little suggestion of herbs or minerals, no interruption from oak. It’s smooth-textured, but with liquid acidity like a wash of juicy cherries over its tawny dried fruits. Lighthearted. The acid carries the day.
