“Ripe Tannins”

Simi Winery
Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
2005

This wine has plenty of fruit, and the tannins are forward but not aggressively so. We get flavors of dark cherry, bramble fruits, black current, and vanilla (probably from the oak). Meg thinks it tastes like linen. Which is about as reasonable as claiming, as the label does, that it has "ripe tannins."

Cost: $15
