The Zuccardi estate was founded in 1963 by Alberto Zuccardi, after the family relocated to Mendoza from Avelino, Italy. In 1990 Alberto’s son José assumed management, and now the third generation, Sebastián, runs the estate.
Zuccardi’s entry-level, varietal Malbec is a black ruby color with a fuchsia rim. Its aromas are boozy, carrying heavy cassis and black raspberry notes. The palate is consistent with this, but a spike of acidity like red grapefruit lifts the wine. It has enough tang to pair with sharp cheeses, pizzas and tomato-based sauces.
