2019 Salomon Undhof Grüner Veltliner Wieden Kremstal

2019 Salomon Undhoff Grüner Veltliner Wieden Kremstal DAC

Salomon Undhof’s Grüner is straw yellow color, very faint, with clear rim and a perfume of apple blossom, white peach, and cut grass. It’s peachy on the palate, too, which adds flavors of citrus pith, ginger, and salt. The wine is textural, weighty (don’t let its clarity fool you), and the acidity is modest, but it finishes in a refreshment of lemon nectar. Best with mild and milky cheeses, poached fish, and lighter fare seasoned with lemongrass.

Thank you! I used to buy a lot of Salomon when they were with Theise/Skurnik, but then they disappeared. Glad to know the wines are available in the USA. Still have some older bottles (back to 1995) in the cellar, but nothing in the last 10-plus. Time to hunt some down.
