2013 Vignoble des 2 Lunes Comète Brut Crémant d’Alsace

Snappy Crémant, good as an aperitif

2013 Vignoble des 2 Lunes Comète Crémant d'Alsace

Vignoble des 2 Lunes makes their Crémant from Pinot Blanc, biodynamically farmed and certified by Demeter since 2007. The fruit was hand-harvested into small bins and all fermentations were spontaneous. The result is a foamy wine whose scent is fresh and stony, plus a light sense of baked nut and pineapple. The flavor reads as salted pear, and the finish is also saline. It’s fully dry at less than 1 gram per liter of residual sugar, and the acidity is modest, too, making this a spirited but accessible sparkling wine for the cocktail hour.
