2015 Pratsch Grüner Veltliner Steinberg Weinviertel

Friendly, refreshing, good with food

2015 Pratsch Grüner Veltliner Steinberg Weinviertel DAC

The pale yellow robe of the Pratsch Grüner Veltliner emits a—surprise!—green-fruited fragrance of lime, lime peels, fresh grass, and fresh mint. The palate prickles with acidity, like iced green tea muddled with lime juice and spearmint. The finish, though, is more serious, a little savory and evocative of hay. I do wish this finish lingered awhile, as I want more of this complexity.

Overall a simple and friendly wine, not too expensive, not too serious, and very forgiving with food.
