2012 Avignonesi Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG

Pale garnet red with a clear orange rim. It’s fragrant of cherries, wet stone, dry vineyard soil. Supple-textured with leathery tannins, the wine wears its fruit like a silk stole. Made from 100 percent Sangiovese grown between 270 and 375 meters on vines aged ten to 39 years. It was vinified with native yeast, and the wine spent 12 months in French barrique and six months in Slavonian oak casks. An engaging interplay of brilliant red and dusty brown.
