Trimbach

Trimbach
Pinot Blanc
2006
Current price: about $12

Very light, with a slightly flowery nose, clear and clean. It drinks a little appley, almost like dry cider, which is probably a flaw, oenologically speaking, but to us it's charming. It has a long, cidery finish, too. Great with aged cheese (we suspect the French know this).

Simple and unpretentious. This would be a great picnic wine, if only the weather would cooperate.
