2013 Garofoli Piancarda Rosso Cònero DOC

“Cherries steeped in loam...”

2013 Garofoli Piancarda Rosso Cònero DOC

One hundred percent Montepulciano, grown in the hills above Monte Cònero overlooking the azure calm of the Adriatic. The wine was aged one year in cask and six months in bottle, and the result is a deep ruby velvet color with a fragrance of dark cherries steeped in woodsy loam. It offers mushroom, sous boistea and rosewood, a garland of resinous herbs. It’s somewhat sharp and angular now despite the rosy earthiness, but two more years of bottle age will make it more pliant.

Pair it now with hearty fare: stews, roasts, sausages, cassoulet, cacciatore.

13.5% | $16 (sample) Imported by Dalla Terra
