2012 Aphros Loureiro Bruto Reserva Espumante Sub-Região Lima, Vinho Verde DOC

“A spray of minerals and herbs and fruit...”

2012 Aphros Loureiro Bruto Reserva Espumante Sub-Região Lima, Vinho Verde DOC
A traditional-method sparkling wine, 100 percent Loureiro, aged two years on lees in bottle. Its nut and brioche-accented aromas also suggests pome fruits and other tree fruits, not fresh but dried (and maybe even toasted). Its quiet creamy mousse bursts into a spray of crunchy minerals, lemony pears, fresh and dried herbs, bay leaf, and brine.

12% abv | Aphros works with Michael Skurnik in N.Y. and Winewise in Calif.
Sample tasted at the winery on 19 May 2016.
